Your World Youth Day Contacts

Manuel Beazley

Manuel Beazley
Manuel is the Promotional Co-ordinator and also the World Youth Day Ambassador for the Auckland Diocese.

He brings considerable experience to both roles.  He has been a Pilgrim as well as a Group Leader in previous World Youth Days and is definitely the man to listen to in our preparations!

Manuel's blogs are also available on this site and can be found here.

Jo van Kempen

Jo van Kempen Jo is the Co-ordinator of all events both locally and pastorally including:
  • WYD Masses
  • Concerts
  • Soul of the City Festival
  • Selected Pilgrimages

Jo also has the role of raising the profile of World Youth Day in the wider community.

Joanne van Heerden

Joanne is World Youth Day Administrator for the Auckland Diocese and provides a point of contact for World Youth Day communications and queries.

As a group leader herself, Joanne has a vested interest in making things as easy as possible for us all to find out the information and relevant dates that we need to know!  This includes knowing what else is available in the Auckland Diocese.

She has been also overheard saying that she intends to make these Aussies realise we are going to celebrate WYD on our West Island with as many friends as we can...

Tina Shore

Tina is the Hospitality and Accommodation Co-ordinator.  She is the main point of contact when international pilgrim groups indicate they'd like to come to Auckland for the Days in the Diocese prior to the official World Youth Day week of events.  She is also the contact point for parishes, schools and ethnic community groups who will take up the challenge and commit to hosting these pilgrims.

Once groups have committed to travelling to Auckland for the Days in the Diocese, Tina will co-ordinate accommodation and hosting for overseas pilgrims.  Hosts will also provide meals and local transport for four days   until the groups flights out ofAuckland for World Youth Day starting Tuesday 15th July 2008

Tina is looking at many options to help each parish be excellent hosts for these visiting pilgrims to experience Kiwi hospitality at its best.
